I've tried re-pairing it I have a iPhone 5 I've tried pairing other devices a iPhone 4 a iPad mini but still get the same thing it cuts in and out if i have it in my pocket and move a little, it plays up if I move out of the car it cuts out completely when I'm about 2 or 3 meters away from the car. From what i have read and from other people the range should be a lot better. Can anyone help please.....

Odd questions but..

1) What sort of cover do you have on your phone?

2) Is your vehicle tinted? Metallic film?

3) Do you have a heated windscreen?

4) Has the vehicle had all updates loaded onto it?

5) Is your iOS fully updated?

6) When did you last do a full re-boot of your phone?

Try not asking the same questions in various posts, gets bit boring reading the same thing!

I tested the Bluetooth range yesterday with my iPhone 5 and MY13 D4. Phone is naked and iOS 6.1.2.

With phone in hand music gets choppy/cuts out at around 2 meters from the car.

With phone in pocket the signal is choppy even while sitting in the car.

Basically, the only way I get a reliable signal is to have the phone out of my pocket and inside the car. So same experience as you. Not to bothered about it as that's the only way I use it anyway :)

As a comparison I have another Bluetooth device, a Jawbone JamBox which gets a clear signal from the phone from 15 meters away in a different room.

Hmmmmm another interesting test would be to put the JamBox inside the car and see what distance I get. That'll rule out the car body being a factor. Will do it today.

With the JamBox in the glovebox and all doors and windows shut it could still get a signal at around 15m from the car.

Figuring then that either the cars Bluetooth aerial or head units firmware are the issue

Yeah thanks for that. We both have the same problem glad to know I'm not the only one will be good to get to the bottom of it though. Cheers
