Where do you get access to files and folders etc? Can't find them anywhere. The only place I can find my downloads is if I open rubbish bin. Secondly I run Thunderbird for my email program. How can I get all my contacts and saved emails etc from my laptop to my new computer without manual entry? Jim

Go to Desktop (should be one of the big coloured panels) then you should see a folder icon along the bottom task bar.

Download mozbackup and then do a full backup emails and all to either a usb hdd or flash drive , install mozbackup on the new laptop then restore the backup from your portable device .
Does Firefox favourites and all accounts/passwords as well - easy as .

Press the windows key and "E" and explorer will come up.
Windows key on my keyboard is between Ctrl & Alt on the LHS....
I have just gone to Win8 a week ago, and it is taking some getting used to. It is QUICK though!
