so i was gonna try and do the brakes but ive come across what may be a simple problem anyway.. where do I put the croc jack to get both wheels off the ground? tried to lift it up under front diff where the cup fits perfectly but it got the drivers side off the ground and the passenger side stayed on the ground...

and where do I do it for the rear? same? should I do front then back or side to side by the looks of it?

axle stands from supercrap a 86 weughs nothing so u dont need the big solid ones...the light ones hold up my 110 safely anyhow

mesure that hand brake rod and post its length then ull know if its buggered ,,,,,,could br that the hand brake is adjusted wrong the length will be able to tell you if thats the problem {on a side brake note there are cheep{s 1 relative} trans brake pad and rivet kits around at the moment there a rivet on set up 20 to 50 bucks and with the linkage sorted thats 1/5th of the brakes done...easy to

Re: Transmission brake shoes.
I'm paying $18 for a set of new shoes with bonded linings from a local clutch & brake supplier. They are cheaper still from the UK.

MFC, I should have mentioned, at that stage I already removed the severed bit. lol the top was still on the lever.

bought 1400kg jack and 3000kg stands from supercheap. So I think I'll be safe doing it one by one?
