Hello. Ok, having been here for a while now, I've got the vehicle I want, and am now finally getting to do some of the trips I want. Having been on a few, I see most use Snatch Straps here. To me they seem brutal with little give or stretch. In the UK, I used to have a KERR (Kinetic Energy Rope Recovery) rope.... It was about 3 Meters long in relaxed form and about 50mm thick. When in use, it used to nearly double in length but extract a vehicle with ease. Does anyone know of a good supplier here for these? I would have bought mine over when we shipped the other stuff... Tirfor, chains, shackles etc, but it was well used and laced with Herefordshires finest red clay! I've seen the American Bubba Ropes which seem to be similar, and quite good. As always, thoughts please! Cheers in advance!!

The snatch straps we tend to have here have only about 20% stretch.

You could ring Span Set, they make the webbing, etc here ==*Recovery and Towing*== SpanSet ===================== (http://www.spanset.com.au/products/recovery-and-towing.html)

Theres a KERR rope on ebay at the moment, $70 , mine just arrived in the mail and is a bargain , at 33,500 lb probably a little heavy duty for my truck but I'd be a lot happier using it than a snatch strap. another seller (not ebay) has the same rope for $180
