temp levels for tranny and engine

Hey guys, going to purchase a dual monitor for my td5 and was intersted in comments as to what would be considered a high enuf temp to set the unit to alarm, what is considered to be over the range, i dont do any heavy towing so prob sand and slow low range work would be the only 3ork that would get tranny and engine hot
