Hi all,

I have been asking around ARB and other 4x4 stores re a Safari Snorkel for the 2.2 Puma. None have been able to confirm that the same snorkel for the 2.4 is suitable for the 2.2. After researching the forum on the same topic I decided to call Safari Snorkel direct. They said that the 2.4 snorkel is good for the 2.2. The part number is SS580HF.

Cheers,

Danial.

ARB Townsville fitted a Safari snorkel to my 2.2 back in March 2012. First one to a 2.2 they had done but no dramas.

Purely looking at the spares on the snorkel and the absence of any difference between the 2.4 and 2.2 intake pipe, I would assume there is no difference.

On the UK websites they still advertise the same snorkel for the 300Tdi, Td5 and all Puma's but there has been a post that the 300Tdi doesn't fit the Puma...

Go for a Mantec!:D

Cheers,

Lou

I got quoted today, $1550 to install a genuine mantec style snorkel for my 2.2! Going for a safari, fitted for $625, and yes the 2.4 snorkel kits will fit a2.2

Complete insanity on that Mantec snorkel price (I suppose that was from the dealer?)!

As per the link below: 128.00 GBP for the snorkel plus 35.00 to 45.00 GBP for postage and packing to Australia. That is less than $250 Aussie dollar at the current exchange rate for it delivered in under a week. I just had a Mantec steering guard delivered from them in under a week for 35.00 GBP P&P.

The snorkel is reasonably easy to fit, but even if you pay your local 4X4 shop $250 to fit it you are still under $500!

Defender 300Tdi, Td5 & Puma (http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_new.tpl&product_id=864&category_id=1013214&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=14)

At that price the Safari does looks enough of a bargain as long as it's genuine Safari (with the logo) and not a look-a-like hybrid.

Cheers,

Lou

Did somebody develop any problems with the ARB Snorkel on the defender 2.2?

How did you manage to get it sent to you for $35? The website is quoting me $320 delivery...
