legal light requirements?

Hello people, just trying to get my much modified 1971 van ready for an easter break, got to putting lights back on the rear, does anyone know if there is a legal requirement for a reverse light (in Qld) as I don't seem to have wiring for one but don't want to have to change anything after I fit them, going LED, fed up with rusty bulb holders!

As far as I know it can not shine in drivers eyes behind you but to be sure I would ring main roads or department of transport as theycan tell you for sure.

not so much worried about fitting a reverse light, more being lagel if I don't have one, just wondered if anyone knew the rules?

no you don't need them, I don't know of any caravans that have reversing lights

Some have them, and after having them for backing up in the dark, you may want them fitted to every trailer/van you own!
It"s got me beat why they aren't standard. Just another cost I suppose.
