Hi all

Maybe a dumb question, but is the rear sliding window on the back of a truck cab the same as the two sliding windows on the back of a station wagon? Would a security grill from a station wagon fit over the back of a truckcab?

Cheers

Alan

Sorry, I can't answer that question, but the measurements, inside the frame of the rear window on my truck cab are; 890 mm i/s width by 350 mm i/s height.

If someone can measure the width and height inside the frame of a rear sliding window from a wagon, I would be interested as well.

The 2a truck cab i have has a 910x300 window measured on the outside that is the size inside the frame
The actual frame would be bigger on the inside of the cab

The rear window in my twin cab county which is a CSW side window is roughly 1100x450 on the outside of the aluminium fame and has round corners

You could fit a side grill over the rear window tho it my look a bit out of place or maby fit a larger side window in the truck cab as it looks like it would be quite doable

Thanks Chris. Unfortunately at 1100 x 450 it couldn't fit my cab, not enough space between the wrap-around corner glass.

My interest was not a security grill, but the replacement window channel from Garrison, which inc sells.

You draw the pic of what you need and send me a email with said pic to chriso74@internode.on.net
I can fold up what you need and send it up to you

Bush65,

The replacement rubber for the ute cab rear window is,
Spectrum Rubber flocked bailey channel 350.360
Can be ordered through Clark Rubber $8/meter

Confirmed it works as I replaced mine, 1995 defender, 3 weeks ago.

Thanks for the kind offer Chris, it is only the bailey channel that needs replacing for my rear sliding window. The Garrisson kit, replaces frame and all and seems to be a good solution, but not suitable for the smaller rear window in truck cabs.

Thanks jboot51 for the specs for the correct bailey channel.

I will get some of the bailey channel rubber from Clark Rubber next time I am near their store.

Sorry to highjack Alan's thread, but I think it helped answer his question indirectly.

You could also purchase from spectrum direct over the net.Spectrum Rubber (http://www.spectrumrubber.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1)

This is where I purchased mine from,as they are only a few Km from here,I went and picked it up.If you go to the Automotive section and scroll down to the flocked Bailey chanel you will see a sectional view of the 350.360.They also stock all sorts of trim clips etc,so is a handy place to know.
