Does anyone see any issues with this photo in mind?

My drive-train makes a droning noise on power and off. Most likely a Diff however I'm thinking gearbox. In the meantime I'm looking at the transfer case.

i can see some rust at the top of the case. Any opinions appreciated.

rust on stuff, pitting on faces, uneven wear (or lighting making it look worse)

Whats more important is whats not in the box now and how much of it was in the box before it wasnt in the box.

(aka Whats in the oil, how much was there and what was on the plate and drain bung?)

Do you have a better pic, maybe of the teeth on the intermediate gear.

What they said! Water is your enemy! If the surface of the gears have that rust, then so do the races in the bearings. The gears will be 'serviceable' but I could 99% guarantee that the bearings are not. Strip down time... If there's been water in there, drain your diffs, swivels and gearbox too and change all the oils. Good time to do it whilst waiting for the bearings to come in....

Thanks for the input. Here's another photo for now. (Storm here, power sketchy, back soon):

The history of the vehicle is sketchy. The story is it had to pass through water as the wet came in, otherwise time would have stopped or something. Major problem was, it sat for a while after without use or service until I came along and fell into it. I've replaced all the oils beside the swivels. What I found was the front diff was full of ochre coloured water from the Pilbara and the gearbox had a fair sight of metal filings attached to the catcher. Besides the excruciating noise everything is functional. So I'm just having a squiz into what I can pop open with a spanner for now, knowing I'm above my head again. Simply looking for momentum.

that will want a rebuild, even if you put new bearings in it the pitting will take out the hardfacing on the gears when you put the power on and then the swarf will take out the bearings.

Should I be looking at pulling the R380 as well then? That's the one with the shavings.

And following all this I have one more question. Is there anyone in Darwin that would be interested in rebuilding the gearbox and transfer if I delivered both out of vehicle?
