What would it cost to retro fit 17" capable brake rotors & calipers.
Given that I will have to replace the rotors & pads at some stage I guess there are some savings to be had.
The D4 has a tyre placard that says it can have 17" wheels so legalities should not be to much of a problem especially if using genuine LR parts.
After all the TDV6 weighs approximately the same as an SDV6 so stopping should not be an issue.

Hi Chuck,
Do a search. This was proposed some time ago. I think it is achievable in the physical sense, providing you can get hold of all the bits required. However I believe you will strike issues on the legality. As the vehicle has been given ADR certification with the current setup, any change would require an engineering sign off, and I am not sure that would even be enough. ( even insurance could be an issue )
You may also strike issues calibrating the lower spec setup to the various computer controlled functions, and I think the ABS will be the least of your worries.
The range of 18" rubber has expanded dramatically recently, I would talk to Gordon about the GOE wheels. A far easier option.

A full set of rotors, callipers, calliper brackets and pads had a list price of around $1800 when I did mine. I believe that there can't be any differences in ABS programming because varying tyre grip on differing surfaces means the ecu has to react to loss of traction. However I doubt I'd do the conversion again because the 18" LT D697 tyre of approximately standard size would suffice for my usage.
