Discovery II Amigos

I have read through most (virtually) of the posts regarding the Amigos. Rather than bore readers with my problems (they are the same ad nauseum), is anyone able to advise me of a recommended service that can help me to resolve the Amigos problem? I have been to registered LR dealer/service agents who just quoted me around $3,000 to $4,000 for the work, but with NO guarantees. I am a disabled war veteran and unable to be a "hands-on" fixer and must resort to paying someone who knows what to do. I live in Rylstone, not far from Mudgee, but would be prepared to travel a reasonable distance either in the direction of Sydney or elsewhere to pay the right person. There are numerous contributors who seem to offer very helpful advice and I am hoping that my luck could also change. Cheers, Rod

Welcome to the site Rod.
The first thing you need is to get your ECU faults read using testbook, nanocom, or such like.
Once you know the fault code, then we can advise what to do next.

Are you getting random 3 amigoes or are they are a regular visitor or on all of the time?

I'm in SW Sydney (Campbelltown) so I realise its a fair drive for you, but if the Nanocom detects a shuttle valve fault I'll be happy to do the Option B fix for you at no cost. However you will need a nanocom again afterwards to clear the faults (I don't have one, unfortunately).

if you can find a mechanic you trust ask him\her if you supply the parts and instructions[there in the good oil]will they do the work take the printed out instructions with you.But get the codes read first.

You don't need to clear the faults if Option B solves the problem. Also assuming its not now a hard fault.

If you really need to reset you can, in the following order, remove the + battery terminal, put your foot on the brake for 10 seconds, put the battery terminal back on. Done.

My D2 td5 was good the 50000 km since I owned it. Then I had about 5 left rear sensor intermittend, which I cleared.About 1000 km later it showed left front sensor intemittend, I cleared about 10 times.Removed the sensor, all looked good, resistance and continuity checked good, wriggled cable, good.I did the jack-up-wheel-speedo-test, good.Wheelbearing felt good. Then it threw up "23-05 SVS electrical fail intermittend 23 times", i cleared that perhaps 5 times.Did option B, easy to do, thanks Josh.There was no oil around the shuttle valve switches.
Then i had several "soft amigos"(no fault logged, lights go out after ignition off, on, drive a bit.
Then I got again "20-07 front left sensor output intermittend",cleared that about 5 times.Amigos came on always within 5 km.Having done option B I could test shuttle valves and switches with a multimeter just by pressing the brake pedal, resistance 3k, 2k 1k, all good.Then I took the front left sensor out again,put back in,wriggled wheel, but but the brake together with anti-squeal goo. Since then we drove over 100 km without amigos, so there is hope.At that stage I believe the anti-squeal goo did the trick, if not I intend to post.While I am on the subject, there is often mention to leave the o-ring of the sensor out to decrease the air-gap. On my hub and sensor there is at least 1 mm extra depth in the recess for the o-ring, so leaving it out will not change anything.

heichen ,,Sounds like wheel hub bearings. Take wheel and brake rotor off..disengage all drive and spin the hub ...if the bearings gone you'll know.
