Does anyone know if you can order the black pack on the TDV6? The sales rep seemed to think so today, but I can't see it as an option on the landrover website. It's the last decision to make before signing in the line

I dont think so, I have the spec sheet (at home) and from memory it was only available on the SDV6.

Nothing a paint shop can't replicate!
Roof rails (can order full length in black anyway & easy to fit) & Cross bars only come in Silver now anyway.
Front grille.
Both Air intake grille's
Wheels.
Badging.
I have basically done this to mine apart from the front & air intake grille's as I painted mine shadow chrome instead.
But all my accessories are black.
This way also you can do it at your own leisure & not have to fork out for it in one go.
Cheer & good luck.

Hi Sniegy,
Can I ask whether you painted the rims or powder coated them?
I also notice that the black edition has black door handles. Do you think that it would be possible to paint these black, or would it wear off too quickly?
Cheers

Hi Sniegy,
I think that is what I am going to do. The dealer is finding out if I can order black grill through spare parts

Failing that, you can easily order the grille, side vents and door handles online for around 300GBP (~450AUD)

I painted all mine, powder costing is an option but a little more expensive.
I have also painted my door handles, but white not black.
Have had it now for 2 & a but years & no sign of wear.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice all, I now see why my dealer was pointing me in the direction of not adding accessories with the purchase.... So much cheaper over seas

That's unusual for a LR dealer ;-)

This is just a quick idea in case you wanted to try something different...
There is a flexible plastic coating available called "Plasti Dip". It has been around for yonks in the USA, but not easily available in Australia until recently. It has a multitude of uses, but recently people have been using it to coat wheels in whatever colour they choose (usually black). It can be peeled off at any time with no damage whatsoever to original item.
They have even demo'd painting an entire car in it. :)
In general it is a matte finish, but you can also add a specific "gloss" coat as well.
Try doing a search on YouTube for it.

Cheers. It seems too cheap for the black parts from the uk. Do they generally quote ex tax, as the prices I saw didn't say either way

The prices I mentioned were ex-tax (VAT) which we do not incur. The prices in the links Hoppy provided are ex-tax also.

Not unusual at all actually. The dealer over here gave me the same advice.
But it has nothing at all to do with them trying to steer you towards purchasing your accessories overseas or third party - they still want the business.
The reason that they recommend not adding any accessories to your vehicle at the time of purchase is because your new Disco is already going to cost you more than it should because of the "Luxury Car Tax". Any accessories that you add at the time of purchase are also taxed at the "Luxury" rate - whereas if you purchase them and have them fitted later on - you will pay far less tax on them. Makes sense to me - anything to reduce the amount of tax I pay to these thieving mungrels wins my vote.

I just got back from Los Angeles and there were a few "all-black" Range Rovers. I saw one Discovery in the full black kit and I didn't much like it. Our teenage son said it made it look like the wheels were dirty. I have a black SDV6 coming in four weeks. Personally I'm glad I didn't get the black kit.
I was amazed how many RR and RRS's I saw around West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It is certainly the vehicle of choice in that part of LA.
