EAS NRV's; parts or fix ?

think i'm right in saying these are not a replaceable part & not fixable, have not read anything about them being so. in which case it's a new EAS valve block required
those here more knowledgeable, is this so ?

they are a poor design and the guide cones wear badly, they would last longer if they were mounted vertically. the end O rings are replaceable and the valve body never seems to wear, so pick the best and fit it to the position closest to the pipe fittings as this is the one that gets the most work. give them all a good dollop of rubber grease and make sure they are in the right way round (the valve seats are easy to spot in the body and use as a guide to fitting).

that makes sense as that's the one linked to the Exhaust valve & Diaphragm valve Solenoids, which is where my current problem stems from. might be worth a try, but may get issues with the other Solenoid valves.....at least that would confirm some things.

Hi Rupert, are you sure about putting rubber grease on the NRVs? I greased mine slightly when renewing the o-rings and had all sorts of bother when I reinstalled the valve bock. I finally "twigged" the problem (system deflating/front end dancing while stopped at trafic lights etc) was the NRVs and so degreased them and the seats (shellite on a cotton bud). Reinstalled and the whole thing settled properly... just my twopence worth..

i concur Hoges, after the last/final rebuild, no grease or oil, make sure seats are clean & also ensure the one that sits upside down is freely moving as the block goes down.
did as you suggested Rupert & put the best one closest to to pipe fittings, i understand the cones which are a very soft metal are only there as guides for the o-rings to seat properly.

i was starting to tremble @ the thought of buying a new Valve block, but it's all sorted now & working as it should......wifes happy.
