As the new owner of a second hand 2010 Deefa...

1. Does anyone know the brand of this bar? Is it a Terrafirma or rovercraft or something else?

2. There seems to be little room at the 'back' of the bar for a winch to be mounted seeing as the back holes on the bar for mounting of a winch are in direct vertical alignment with the grill..... I'm not keen to go cutting up the grill to fit a winch.... Any suggestions? (Start again with a different bar.....) Are there winches that fit into this space? Hole spacing is 114/254mm.

3. Recommend me some driving lights to fit with this bar.....

(4. Why did Land Rover remove the identifier label/sticker "Defender" from the front of the bonnet? grrr.)

Thanks

Congratulations and welcome of the Deefa club

Looks like it might be a Terrafirma bar.

Depends on what sort of winch you want, you could probably find a small winch to fit the space. Personally I am not a huge fan of winches that attach along the sheer of the bolts opposed to having the bar the distribute the weight.

Good point about where loading point should be...

In the UK you can spec your Puma without aircon and if that bar is Terrafirma, it might be for one of those.

I can't see any 9000 lbs fitting there without butchering (ok, modifying:D) your grill.

Question 3 - Lightforce in 5" to 6" is a very reasonable option...

Question 4 - Don't know and share your frustration. Might be that the old style semi-metallic sticker didn't suit the modern grey embossed badge on the nose...(feng shui...?:D)

Cheers,

Lou

It is definitely not a Rovercraft bar.
Looks like one designed for earlier models without the nose cone extension, originally to allow for air-con. You may win some real estate back by going with a stainless or Al grill panel, but if your car is under warranty the powers in charge may use it as an excuse and deem any problems are due to a lack of airflow or similar bunkum.
Those bars don't provide much protection for the mudguards, which I wasn't too concerned with until I had dented both front corners. Now I have a 'normal' ARB style bar to protect my dents.

Thanks

Can't help with the winch, but i'd recommend Fyrlyt for your driving lights. You can get them from TJM, or there was a fella on here selling em for a pretty good price a while ago.
