Gday people.

I have owned a d2 for the last 5 years and love it but i have reacently started doing a lot of work out in arnhemland and am considering geting a defender because i think it will be perfect for the condithons out there.

I have owned a defender wagon in the past and loved that but it was a 200tdi and it did lack power . I have a pretty fresh TD5 sitting in the shed and was thionking of buying an older dual cab 130 and putting the td5 in it so i have been searching for any mention of this conversion being done and have found nothing so far .

Does any one here know of anyone doing this conversion before?

I am pretty keen on a 130 but have not found a TD5 versoin that i can afford and it would give me a chance to put that spare engine to good use .
I will be very happy to hear any suggestions . Thanks , Bill.

Theres a bloke in LROCV putting a Td5 in a Disco 1

pretty good idea of what you have to do

would be similar to a Defender, engine mounts & wiring loom are the problem areas

you should be able to see it without logging in.

130 TD5's come up from time to time. The railways in NSW had quite a few and they are now in private ownership.

Our daughter and husband live in Gapuwiyak (Arnhemland) and we prepared a 130 we bought at Pickles auctions. Below is the build and delivery trip to Gapuwiyak.
