Hi
I am not sure I am fitting this up correctly as you will see from the pictures to get the snorkel level with the guard the bracket at the top would be well over the sealing strip for the windscreen
Also the top of the snorkel is about an inch from the top of the guard which matches the bracket on the hole but is that right?
Anyway have a look at the pictures and any info would be great
The first image is where the bracket sits flush with the A pillar and windscreen seal and is a fair bit out from the guard
The second 2 are where its as close to the mud guard and the top bracket over the seal
The last one is the gap above the wing
Its a 2012 defender 90 and a Mantes 115-RAIDEF or 1DPFL

Hi Garry,
Quickly went outside and photographed mine, which has been fitted for nearly 4 years now.
The gap above the wing is correct as it's got something to do with aerodynamics (yes, I know )
With the base offered up to the wing the bracket should align a bit better, but that bracket does sit very close to the rubber.
Hope the pictures help and you manage to align it all!
Cheers,
Lou

Thanks a lot for that Loubrey, I will just get outside and go on with it then. It is good to have the confirmation though

Hey Garry,
As long as you have a good seal to the pipe going to the airbox and the top section of the snorkel lines up with the A-pillar ok I wouldnt be too stressed about small gaps around the base of the snorkel unless they are over a cm.
Cheers

Well I read a few more threads and what I have now is a hole in the wing where the suction of the air box used to be, the pipe in the wing has been pulled out and I am now scratching my head until tomorrow as to how to seal up a new pipe and put a proper sealed hose and plate in
Lucky my neighbour is a good stainless steel welder, I will ask him nicely tomorrow to weld me up a plate for the snorkel.
I might get all the dimensions of what I do and pass it on to the Forum, I will see how it turns out. It could get messy
I will post more pics as it progresses
