Your right, that is a gem! About 15yrs ago I did a full rebuild on a one owner plus 35 swb series 2, young and stupid, I sold it to 2 jackaroos who drove it from Canberra to Darwin, used it as a bull chatcher for 12months then drove it home via Perth! They rang when they returned asking if I wanted to buy it back, I stupidly said no as it didn't have a straight panel on it...15yrs on I would love to know where it is...

Forgive my ignorance, but what does the 'Plus 35' mean? Looks like a gem though.

Cheers - Gav.:)

Supposedly, aspects of the running gear were +35% stronger than normal.
My old man had a well set up 2a +35 SWB, pity he sold it :(

Hasnt been registered for the last 10 years. It had a concession registration, I wonder if it was a deceased estate or parked in the shed for that time.

Hi, after having one for many years, and breaking countless rear axles - both sides, and at least three gearbox layshafts and a few other gearbox bits and pieces, if the drivetrain is 35% stronger than others, then the others must be made of plasticene, rubber bands and toilet rolls.I still have the remains of the original suffix a box in the shed, I just can't seem to get the fortitude to ditch it.... But I will never be able to inflict the pain and grief on anyone (especially myself!) and refit it to any vehicle. And this was behind a 2.25L diesel!!Andy

I like the number plate: EJ Holden (year is a bit off) 66. :) A 62 would have been better.

It's in coonabarabran. I go past it every week. I did ring up about it about
2 years ago and was told it was a customers and not for sale but he did know
of another one in the area. I look at every time i go past because it has not
moved for at least 2 years can not be doing it any good sitting out like that.

Seems a bit of a waste. Then again, I guess a lot of us leave Land Rovers here and there for years on end...

I hope it has some care and attention coming its way soon, though - as it looks like a very tidy vehicle.

Did some one here get this vehicle as it has gone from the yard.
Just hoping it went to a good home that's all.

Andrew.

Well, I found my old Landy 20 years on, following Dave from Landrover Heaven on Instagram, and straight away knew it was my old vehicle by the bullbar on it..transaction done and I will try and get it back on the road before the end of the year.

I went into Coonabarabran about 5 weeks ago, (I go up there frequently) the yard where that vehicle was still has quite a bit of machinery but no L/R's but just up the street n round the corner there is a big block with a high fence, so I parked on the roadway and got up on the turret of my 110 and looked over the fence, lots of 60's model cars, and off in the distance I spied a Series 1 (not in the same yard) I did ask about it but got blank stares from the chap I spoke too, I suspect the +35 went back to work on the farm, cheers Dennis

Hi, I just got may hands on the Plus 35 as pictured. I don't know a lot about them. It is in the same condition as the pictures from 2013. It has 60K miles on her and is in pretty good nick. Engine purrs like a cat.

Is there much demand for them? Are they as rare as people say? Are they worth much? Thanks

Mick
