Our new D4 should be ready for pick up on the 19th - just a bit over a week to wait! :woot:
I hope our Defender gets along well his new brother - sibling rivalry can be quite difficult sometimes ... :D

Luckily for me I've been occupied with a heavily pregnant wife and the recent arrival of our twins, so the last 4 months since we ordered the D4 have gone by pretty quickly. But now that it's so close, I'm really starting to look forward to it!
We have had one minor setback though - our VW Tiguan which we had planned to advertise and sell over the next couple of weeks had it's rear door sideswiped by a bus this arvo! Not happy Jan!

If my D4 shipped from Southampton on April 11, what do you think the travel/delivery time would be? My dealer is in South Australia.

Did they tell you the ship? You can track it online. The seem to do a real milk run round the world. I'd say five weeks travel time and then they say up to 14 days to clear customs and do predelivery.

The dealer said four weeks all up, but I think this is overly optimistic. This was why I was checking. Jeesh...six - seven weeks :(

Mine took about 6 weeks to Port Kembla; FWIW, the ship my car was on didn't stop in Adelaide, so suspect any cars for Adelaide might be via Melbourne.
The it was 2 weeks in wilderness somewhere in Sydney before I got it.
Ask your dealer for the VIN. Then if you check the shipping company (link somewhere around on this site), you can find out which ship it's on. From there, you can use the live ship tracker to follow your car.
Also if you then go into TOPIx, you can find the build sheet for your car to make sure you are getting all you asked for.

Picked up the new toy this morning! :D
Had a nice little drive from the Gold Coast back to Brissie to test it out - very happy.
I was a bit surprised when the salesman showed me the tow hitch stowed away in the rear side panel - I thought the tow hitch was an extra, and I definitely didn't order one. I was planning on buying one of the Mitchel Bros hitch's, but I guess I don't need one now.
Also got a couple of LR caps, a bottle of champagne, and some chocolates. :)
Will post a pic when I get a chance.
Cheers
Sean

The hitch receiver in the side panel is standard for Australia; the tow hitch, which comes in a black bag, is extra.

Same here.....it was included without even asking. Was not on my sales order so assumed its standard.
Mitch hitch is the way to go if you use the car for what it was designed for, and you can sell the factory plow to pay for half.
