:mad::mad: They really do!!! Having finally sorted my new pc after it crashed during a legitimate procedure (system restore) I now struggle with firefox on my laptop. I can open the program but once open I can do nothing with it, not even close down. I have to force close to stop it, So I get out my old emergency laptop and all programs run well, Having not done so for a while I decided to run my security program to check for problems. Half way through the computer indicated on the screen that windows had detected a problem and would shut down to save computer. Well it shut down ok and now the computer is totally dead, won't even boot up. Can't boot from cd drive. Totally stuff*d. 3 computers, all running legitimate programs, failing and now not running properly. I said computers hate me!!!!!:mad::mad::mad: I think I will go back to letter writing then Aust Post will lose the darn things. Ajgry Jim

Old emergency laptop that completely shut down this morning... wouldn't turn on even... suddenly came good this afternoon all by itself. Have they started to love me or is it my lucky day? Oh well 3 computers up and running. Still leaves my old pc which is headed for the recycle program. Jim:D:D:D:D:D
I WON!!!

Hey,
On Chrome, have you tried it in the last 6 to 12 months? It has changed a fair amount. I quite like it these days, in fact to the extent that I sometimes feel a little lost if forced to use something else.
I have been in IT now about 11 years and it's only very recently that I made the switch to Chrome. I will admit though, there really is no browser out there that will successfully do everything you want, I still find myself using multiple browsers day to day to achieve my tasks.
Thanks
Chris

I've stopped using IE years ago, it's still behind the times & isn't even upto date properly with CS3.
Firefox does most my general needs, sometimes a bit of chrome... Oh and for all less obvious things... TOR is the one :) Hidden away in a world of it's own i must say... Onion :)

We still have to use IE at work, where no other browser is permitted (and I'm in IT too), I use Chrome on the iPad at home, as well as the machines running Win7, but Firefox on the machines running XP or Vista. (A total of 8 PCs and laptops along with 2 iPads for 4 people!)
This gave the best result when I was messing about and testing 8 months or so ago, but new versions may have changed and could give different results.

Haha, yeah, been there. They just love their "stuff!!" I can understand your current setup, though I would consider another test of Chrome on the XP\Vista(ouch) machines when you have some spare fiddling time! Seems to have had some nice improvements lately in regards to performance.
But in saying that, I also run IE and only IE for work, so I don't really have any XP machines (online at least) to test the theory.
As for IE not being able to do CSS3 (I'm assuming that's what you meant), it does pretty much everything a CSS3 offers now bare a few exceptions. These exceptions are related to things IE has never really had, according to most discussions with MS over the years, due to "security issues."
On that though, I don't know any browser in existence at the moment that implements everything under CSS3 in the way it was originally designed. On a lot of occasions I have found IE to be the most consistent with regards to formatting\styles. At least through versions. Whereas I have seen wild variations between versions of most of the other major browser. With the possible exception of, I hate to say this one, Safari. :dbcry:
Of course this is only my opinion, so please don't take offence if anyone is that way inclined. Also, sorry for hijacking this thread!!
