Hi,
Got directed here from my usual haunt - Disco3.co.uk. I am about to import my D3 from the UK to Sydney and wanted to know where I can source a Sat Nav disc with Australian map data on for the built in Sat Nav on my D3.
I've read a few things on the topic but wanted to hear the general consensus on the subject.
Many Thanks for any tips....

Find someone with a disco 3 in oz and get them to coy the disc for you.
May only have worked on the very early d3s but i have done it in the past.
Need to do a total copy on a computer using sonic record now or similar program.

V16 is the most current D3 version (they have not released V18 for D3 and will not say if/when it will be released) and it is no longer available from whereis (they state not in stock). V18 is the most current version for all other models and whereis state that it is only available from Landrover.
So perhaps, er, "other options" should be explored, particularly as the newest maps (V16) are now several years out of date (8 or so years I think) and seemingly not available. They make it easy don't they ?!

I purchased V16 last year in August 2012 it has 2011 maps on it. I have used it in outback Australia and has every road dirt road etc you would ever want. The reason they havnt released V17 for D3 rr etc as the new owner of Landrover Tata havnt come to an arrangement as to what they want on the disc from whereis so V17 wont be released V18 will be the next if all goes well. As told to me by whereis

G'day Che,
My 05 D3 uses Denso Land Rover maps from Sensis. I have used plain Denso disks in my car and they got me to where I wanted to go. I have used Denso discs from a Toyota successfully. If you can borrow one to try before you buy, it may be your cheapest option for latest street info.
Currently I use LR Version 15 (Denso) and a cheap screen mounted GPS to check my speed and give audible over-speed and speed-camera warnings. The cheap GPS has "lifetime map updates" but I must pay for speed updates approx $30 per year.
Update GPS - Whereis Maps - Sensis (http://www.whereismaps.com/buy-map-updates.aspx)
And for version 19 Denso see
Whereis® I Buy Sat Nav Map Updates I Denso/Clarion - Sensis (http://www.whereismaps.com/buy-map-updates_built-in-car-navigation_product.aspx?view=39&devicedesc=Suitable+for+Denso%2fClarion+System&deviceid=357)
Or for the old maps Version 16 using giving all LR options

Hope this helps,
