Fault reset

Hi all

I'm wanting to read and clear ABS/TC/HDC faults on my 03 D2 TD5, is there anyone in the newcastle area who would be willing to use there nanocom/hawkeye on my Disco.

Or try this

Pull the battery terminals off.

Put your foot on the break for 10 seconds. (count to 10)

Put the battery terminals back on.

Start your car.

This should have cleared the lights.

thats kind of useless.
if the building is burn down, the fire alarm went off for the reason.

turning off the alarm does not remove the source of the problem, ie, the fire.

I'd be very surprised if it did work on anything but non-permanent faults.

And as Eevo observes you'd be far better off getting the codes read so you know what is causing the problem.

Sounds like you completed it the correct way as it will reset the radio and you will require a code, as you found out.

Was it a permanent fault?
Did you actually fix the problem before you tried the reset? (If you haven't fixed the problem causing the fault, of course it is not going to work).

Bobkins posted two threads regarding warning lights on basically the same topic. I have replied with reference to resetting the warning lights.

Yes, proper diagnostics is critical.

Possibly the case with permanent faults but it does work. As people have just shot it down and not provided any further details I cant really help them any further. Best of luck to the critics.

Totally with you on that mate :D

And it's probably the wiring to a front abs sensor that's caused the issue.....overlay harness used to be available to fix this back in the day when I used to see td5 discos often.

Try swapping the R10 abs relay with another like R6 (eng com fuse box)
cleared my amigos. Worth a try!

The members with diagnostics list is a list of people who have said they are happy to assist where possible. Because the you have to contact via PM it means the member has to be active on the forum to receive your message its not a given the member will have recieved your request.

There is also an annotation with a verification date in most listings. If this doesn't appear the member did not respond to a PM I sent in December, so chances of them responding to a request for help is pretty remote.
