I decided to repair a coolant leak on my L series after the injector pump timing belt broke that required the head to be removed.

Got this leak fixed and the the turbo drain pipe starts leaking oil.
Changed the gasket between turbo and drain pipe.

Now the injector bleed hoses start to leak.

When will they stop?:angrylock:

This is the 3rd thing should be good after this.

I cannot help with the leaks but what happened when the injector pump belt broke that required the head to come off?

it had a casting fault in the head that was weeping coolant, I was going to replace the head when the timing belts were due. Belt broke. they are due.:D

I HATE the L series vehicles with a passion.
Only ever worked on a few but god they were ****ing oil and fuel everywhere and they were nasty as hell. Granted its not often a dealer sees one, I've only seen one in the last year but I'd sell up sharpish and buy a nice td4 any day mate.
Very few issues with them so long as the breather filters are changed religiously and the boost pipes are done. :wasntme:

I did my apprenticeship on them and know them well. Have seen less issues with L series than TD4. Oil leaks are always in the same spot. Sump gasket or plug above oil filter. Regulaur Timing belt changes and oil changes and they go forever.

Yes I will agree with you TD4 are a nice engine. BMW have a cyclone filter that you can replace breather filters with, this eliminates them blocking.
