Hi
just wondering if anyone had used one of these, looks like a great alternative for a second jack

Hi,
I was interested in one - till I tried to lift it, and that was rated at 2 ton I think.
cheers

Yes i noticed they were specifying the weight as around 17-20KG, probably a bit heavy to be useful as a recovery jack.
Back to a standard air jack for me!

Be OK in a workshop where you have a proper compressor, useless off road, unless you want to fork out for a portable air compressor that can hold on 90 to 100psi, Regards Frank.

Hi,
I noticed a local RACT service man using one on a TV advertisement, but I dare say for him the convenience and speed are more important than the weight in the vehicle.

They consume a fairly high volume of air so while the pressure is manageable from a portable compressor you'd never have the volume. It basically uses a pneumatic piston to operate the piston that would usually be lever actuated. Runs a bit quicker but needs lots of air flow.

Yeah I pretty much decided on weight alone that they were useless as a recovery jack.
I think it's an airbag jack for me, and a 2nd hydraulic one of course !
