Guy's the switches in the console for my electric windows are warm to touch, is this normal, common or something I should get looked at ? makes no difference whether the heater is on or off ! switches in the back doors are fine

Warm after using them??? What about first thing in the morning after leaving the car overnight?
I have never noticed any heat in mine.

Heater vent runs right underneath the console being down south you probably have been using the heater lately right ? Plus the floor gets hot in disco's.

What made me notice in the first place is that it's starting to cool off here overnight,
they’re cold first thing, so I guess if it’s a problem it is only once there is power and not when it’s isolated ?
Drive it for a while they warm up even when not using them, not overly hot or anything just warmer than all the other plastic around them
This will be my first winter with it and it's my first Landy.... might take it for an early service.... the heater is too cold also ;)

It sounds pretty normal to me, they do get hot underneath. Pretty sure my D1 was the same, and my Defender has underfloor heating :p. If you are worried though get it checked out - JC is your man.

If they are only getting a bit warm I wouldn't worry too much as you do have the transmission tunnel, etc directly underneath. But if they are "hot" then I would get it looked at. It could be an electrical short.
Either way, if you are worried about it, get it looked at. Better for the stress levels then! :)

Mine get rather warm even with little use on a longer drive, i do believe its just radiant heat.. unless they are getting too hot to touch, should be fine imo.

They get even hotter at night when you have the headlights on.

Mine get hot too, I am more concerned about the randomness of the back windows working and then suddenly not working. I thought the two issues might be connected???

mine only get hot when the lights are on, other than that they stay at the ambient temperature of the supportpanel from the housing.
the rear windows thing is either the power switch, the control module or the switches.

heater core started leaking so I've got lots of it pulled apart and while waiting for the replacement core, I took the consol out to see if there was anything burnt etc...... nothing must just be normal I guess (hope)

well I change out the heater core over the weekend, when I had the ratchet strap (holding the dash out) going through under the seat.... I noticed that someone had blocked up the rear heater ducts with rag... no idea why maybe get more heat into the front ?
no hot switches now either......
Also anyone else who is thing of doing this, I wish I never cut the pipes to core, it can be done easy enough without cutting them.... I had to take the top one off again to slide the core in ? then I put it on once the core was back in, I took a video of the back of the clamp to make sure it was on ..... 3.30 hours start to finish including beer break :D:D:D
whats next do to ?
