Hi All

Just joined and thought I would offer some info that may help. I just had my roof lining replaced in my Disco 2, as I had previously in a Disco 1. This time I used a mobile guy named Mat from Matty's Hood Lining (in Brisbane). He came to the underground car park where I park the car at work, removed the hood, took it away in his ute, replaced the lining and returned and re-fitted it. Took a few hours all together but the service was very good and the price was competitive with others I rang ($350). He also offered a choice of linings with or without foam. Apparently the foam is what causes them to fail. I chose the one without foam which is fine and he says will never happen again. No additional noise or any other drawbacks that I have noticed.
His number is 0404 913 999.

Cheers

My Missus is a professional motor trimmer and I asked her out of curiosity regarding the roof lining.
For the backed lining with foam,, he will sew seams either down the center or on both sides of the lining because the fabric is not wide enough for the D2.
If he did it in one piece it will be custom pile or unbacked carpet.

The money is right, and what an upholsterer will normally charge for the job, but she said some hit them higher $ because the center console is a pain to get out and back in without the plastic console falling to bits around the screw holes.

thats good value if he comes to you, I had mine done at coopers plains for 280 12 months ago and thought that is good but dropped my d2 and picked it up. it is one piece of material, its worth paying someone even just so you dont have to replace any broken clips when you pull it apart

Matt has done quite a few Discos now so a dab hand at getting the trim and lining out, first used him about 2 years ago and referred others to him who are also happy with his work....
