My sister's son's school lap top is displaying this error below. The School Tech "expert" didn't know how to fix. and there is school work he needs to rescue from it.
error:
When you turn on the computer now it takes a long time to come on and then we get a message like below:

Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
***JMicron JMC25X Gigabit Ethernet Controller Version
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M)F: Exiting PXE ROM.
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key....

Windows Error Recovery
Windows failed to start..... A recent hardware or software might be the cause
If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly. Startup Repair
can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during
startup, choose Start Windows Normally
(use the arrow keys to highlight your choice).
Launch Startup Repair ( recommended)
Start Windows Normally
When we click on "launch Startup Repair ( reccommended), it just goes to a black blank screen with the cursor arrow on it and it stays there and does nothing. We then have to turn off the computer.
