So got a package I've been waiting on in the mail today, was real excited until opening, so I've a 03 td5 which goes well apart from being gutless on hills as soon as I change gear motor drops down to nothing until turbo eventually winds up then same again in next gear. So got checked on auto logic, maf showing zero output. got an 'oem' vdo delivered but zero difference. Old one literally had no wire in the sensor totally gone. Ordered apparant 'oem' injector harness as mine is really soaked in oil at the red and front plug, but it came in Brit part box? So I guess my question is, is there any way of telling if its a genuine make or Brit part rip off? Is the vdo maf the right choice? Sort of need to know before emailing eBay store. Any other suggestions on performance problems much appreciated also! I also ordered genuine rocker cover gasket but came in all makes 4x4 bag? How do I know/ tell if I've been had? Thanks in advance

I can't comment about the harness but the VDO MAF sensor is OEM and perfectly fine.
If the MAF doesn't appear to be working check the wiring back to the ecu, as there may be some damage due to heat over the years. Also measure the resistances across the pins of the MAF. This will help determine whether the sensor is DOA or not. I don't have the readings to hand but are a few recent threads on this. I'll have a look tomorrow and post if I find them, before anyone else does.

My oem harness came in a Britpart box, but stated 'oem' under the AMR6103 part number.
It also has the makers name 'ITT Cannon' on the back of the main plug, along with a sticker between injectors 4 & 5 with time day and part number information.

Which reminds me.. Thread with resistance values for a good MAF follows

Kelvo ITT Cannon is the maker of the actual plug and not the harness.
