Can anyone recommend a reliable Landy mechanic/service centre in the Nowra/Illawarra area?

Experience with D3's would be an advantage.

Kennedy's in Plunkett street (opposite the park) are good with the basic stuff (stuff you could probably do yourself anyway), but for anything else, I have always headed back to Sydney.

Thanks Lucy - just enquiring on behalf of a recent acquaintance who has recently settled in the Nowra area and is awaiting arrival of his D3 which is being shipped from the UK.

I'll pass your comments on to him.

Jeff Rainsford on Kinghorn St (between the Princes Hwy off ramp from Sth Nowra and Kalandar St) is a second generation Landy mechanic but I rather think the D3 is too new for him.

The closest dealer is Southern Classic Cars in Wollongong. Ask Redback about them as he is a customer. (Very sad because over the years we had a series of 3 Land Rover dealers, Mullhalls Garage in North St, then Rudder Motors on Kinghorn and the last was Mcconnachie Motors on Worriee, but they lost the dealership to Southern Classic at the same time that Modern Motors in Dungog lost theirs.)

The family also use Kennedy's once the cars come off warranty.

Jeff is a genius with anything early, and his shed is an Aladdin's cave of series parts. He is also great with classic rangies D1s and 200/300 defenders. I have had only poor experiences with Southern Classic, hence I bypass the 'Gong.
