So,

As the title would suggest, it's been a slow night and I was thinking.....

I know the rear hub bearings are wet, as in lubed by the rear diff oil, but what about the front? Being dry and isolated front the front diff oil, Is there a need to grease the front hub, and if so how often?

All comments welcome, especially the funny ones.

No, D2 hubs are sealed for life.
Hub issues means new hub.
Ask me how I know :p

Not that silly!

How many k's when you had to change them / it?
Did you cause it?

I had to replace a rear after 4 wheel drifting into a curb at speed. Also pretzeled 2 rims so bad they would rock when laid on its side.

Hopefully I won't have to ;)
I investigated repairing/replacing hubs as part of my recent squeak cause search.
I've heard of them going around 200k mark, but not particularly common.

Can't grease them effectively without destroying the seal, which means the grease will just come OUT and the water etc will get IN. New hub required if there are issues. Don't buy non genuine ones.

They can last anywhere between 150,000km and 400,000km at least those are the upper and lower mileages I have replaced them at.

I seem to replace more rear ones than fronts, too.
