I did the suspension bushes on my 98 def last weekend , all but the rear A frame .
The 4 bolts that hold the ball joint to the axel would not undo , I used as much force as I dare , I would hate to brake them ,Can I use the oxy on the housing in situ , without doing any damage ?

yep, although I usually start out with a hot air gun and freeze'n'release before I goto the gas axe.

Do you mean the bracket on the diff? You don't need to remove it to change the ball joint, just remove the pin and undo main ball joint nut, 30mm from memory - big hammer and a few blows should see it pop out.

Thanks for the replies , I was hoping to unstick the bolts as these things only tend to get more stucker with age .
There is not much room around the balljoint nut , maybe a ground down ringy or a shorter socket and a wobble bar extension .
I presume freeze and release is in a spray can ?

its a loctite product, applied correctly after judicioius use of the hot gun Id swear bolts almost become finger tight if they werent so hot to handle. (works best with studs and through bolts that you can get onto the thread of the bolt, its not so good with nuts on studs)
