Td5 dipstick low with >6L oil in.

Evening.
Doing the oil change on the disco, and I'm up to filling it back up.
I put by my count about 6.2L (1L short of full) in, the started it up to let the filter fill up and shut it down.
Then when I checked the dip stick, it's only registering at just above the "low" mark on the dipstick.
Got me slightly confused.

So another litre will bring it up to the full mark. That sounds about right.

Year don't worry, you never completely empty the thing when you drain the sump anyway. Just top it up to full, don't overfill.

Then go do that 0 - 100 and post your time, then we'll be able to tell if its chipped or not. :D

Yep it's about 7-7.5 litres with filters. I drained about 4 litres out of mine tonight, it wasn't even on the dipstick! Don't know where the oil all went.

Mine usually stays about the mid way mark after a service...
