I saw this USAF Boeing C-17A Globemaster III reg. 06-6155 and was able to pull over and get my camera off the floor to grab a couple of shots through the window. The image has been heavily cropped.

I didn't know it was USAF until I looked at the cropped pic on the computer.

It was on approach to RAAF Richmond.

Then this RAAF Hercules went past (actually, there were two of them):

I dont mind a good plane myself. When I was younger I lived across the highway from Darwin Airport / RAAF base. Lots of planes. F-111, B52, 707 fuel planes for the 52's. Plus good ol' Hercules. Good times!:)

beware the regs......

87a from memory (I'll look at the sign near the base and confirm later)

the yanks dont like it when they say "plane tail XXX was nowhere near place YYY at ZZZ" and you turn up with pretty pictures and say things like "sir someones duplicated your plane as I have a time and date stamped photo of it exactly where you say it wasnt"

Then I won't say that 6155 was over Windsor, NSW at 11:59:57 am today and that I was on the corner of Freemans Reach and Wilberforce Rds. I wouldn't want to get into trouble. (The EXIF data was an hour out. I hadn't reset my camera from EDST. Best I go and do that.)

I took several rolls of pics during an international military air exercise in Darwin.....I think 1977.....I was given permission from opscom to take them but never got to see them.....the "men in black" followed me into the camera shop where I got my photos done in those days and had the 3 rolls of 36 slides confiscated.....they gave me silly pics of 172's and PA28's on finals and takeoff as if they were the ones I'd taken. The ones I took were of Tag-4's, sky warriors, f-111's, B52's, C5a's,etc etc from air forces all over the world.....disappointed was I.

Don't look at my Temora Aviation Museum thread!

Nor any of my pics of the Land Rovers in the ANZAC Day march.

Someone better tell them about Google Earth then. I looked at where I was today, and its in accurate high res!

I'd like to see them make Google forfeit the satellites....:D
