Hi guys,

Just bought a 2007 Si6 today! Couple of questions, has anyone had any issue with the demister not working properly? It is like as if the air con is not working in conjunction with the demister and is blowing moist air onto the screen instead of dry air. I reckon my old kingswood demisted faster.
We were going to go for a drive tonight but couldn't get out the drive as it wouldn't demist and I wasn't going to wipe the screen with my sleeve...:p (although I was tempted!)

And the remote/key unlock and lock buttons. I literally have to press them 20 or 30 times to make it work....do I need another one? (only came with one) Is this a common problem as they get older?

Apart from that...very nice car to drive!

Thanks,
Richard.

Check that the air con drains are not blocked. this can cause the issue you talk about. Ive had trouble with the air con on my 2007 TD4. the plug on to the compressor was not making proper contact, a good clean out with contact cleaner and have not had air con issues. Is your air con working?

I had one of the remotes on my FL2 doing the same thing. I changed the battery and its been good ever since. They aren't the easiest thing to change as you need to cut the remote open and solder a new battery in and glue back together. Here is the link from Ebay I got mine from, Its from the UK but I had mine in a week.

Thanks for that info. The link above is the exact problem I have with my demister. Turn the heat on and fog billows out of the windscreen vents!
But I think I have found the solution (or more correctly my wife found it - the link above -for me :D) There is a trim panel on the side of the transmission tunel with one screw holding it on, screw is up near the pedals and is 7mm. Remove the trim panel and the rubber hose for the drain is there. Squeeze it a few times and whatever is blocking the drain eventually moves and this appears to solve the problem. Being parked on gravel driveway and in the dark I didn't see what or how much stuff came out but will keep an eye out for the proper dripping from the AC over the next few days.
