Hi guys,
on my 1962 engine which I am fitting to my 1958 -- it has a holden stromberg carby. I want to change it back to original or a least look like a land rover. So what carby should I have ???? would a '62 engine have a Solex?
thanks
Steve

Solex up to 66/67 (?) then Zenith IIRC.

what are you replacing?
i ask as the linkages are different for a solex vs zenith

good point - I hadn't thought that far ahead - because the PO had changed to a holden engine & cut of the linkages & used a cable. Then I have gone to Land Vehicle Spares & got some linkages but there was no carby & I can't remember what year we picked over. So don't know what I have in the way of linkages. My brain always says "all landrover S2's are the same so anything from another year will fit" I have lost count on how many times I have been wrong in thinking that !!! :o
The bulkhead still has to be painted & put in place before I'll be anywhere near knowing what linkages I have.
thanks for the heads up Dave, I'll keep an eye out for the different styles of linkages.
regards
Steve

Hi Steve,
My very original 1962 LWB has a Solex. Below is a photo of the engine bay which shows (not very well I'm afraid) how the linkage connects up.
cheers
