A 2,300-year-old Mayan temple in northern Belize has been demolished by a construction company wanting to use the rubble as gravel for road repair work. (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-05-16/mayan-pyramid-razed-for-road-fill/4692894)
Some times I just wonder if some people need a brain implant :(

Some people have no concept. It was old. Old things need to be scrapped and replaced with new shiny things.
I work with and socialise with these sorts of people.
"Why don't you take those old cars to the tip?" they say.
"Get yourself a nice car. My Hyundai is a nice car."
You cannot reason with these people. They just don't see it.

I just wonder if they are tasteless enough to pick a Hyundai instead of a Riley Dhc

Black Rhinoceros, Indian Rhinoceros, all the Tiger species, all the Great Apes, the list goes on. Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of years in the making. Not to mention the planet itself!
If we cant get their protection sorted is there much point in getting excited about an edifice to human vanity. at 2,500 years old the paint is hardly dry.

Old and out of warranty. Doesn't even have a roof.
The Kia Carnival is a much nicer car. More practical. More conventional.
OMG. Almost indoctrinated.
Just a footnote, the Kia Carnival V6 has a 25% catastrophic failure rate. Make sure you only own one whilst it is covered under warranty. It's usually the engine that goes. Cooling system and heads/head gaskets. A work colleague has one. A dead one.
I'm tipping the Riley Dhc has lasted a little longer.

Probably found a mine underneath it and the local politician that signed the demolition order off is some relation to Ian McDonald :o

Oh nooooooooo... 2300 years old???
The earth is over 4.5 billion years old. Get over it!
We're not even close to many of the creatures that have been on this earth. What we do is so incredibly insignificant it's barely funny.
I'm not trying to be harsh... just sayin'.
