Hey,
Does anyone have Scheelman seats in their deefer?
What do you think of them?
Is there anyone in Sydney with them that would be ok with me checking them out?
I would love to sit in them and check them out before possibly ordering a set.

yes - do it!! I have them and they are the most comfortable seats I have ever had (including Recaros in an old Rangie). I have a bad back and can now travel all day and get out without any probs at all. Get the ones with adjustable lumbar. They come upholstered in the same material as the Puma standard seats so look the goods too, although mine are now wrapped in sheepskin. I got mine through Dirk at Landrover Tuning - ask for a quote as he will sell them to you at less than the advertised price on his web site. He now has ones with a lift out seat squab to get at the boxes underneath - mine you have to pull 2 allen bolts and tilt the whole seat back - they come with longer runners too so you can get the seat further back if you are tall.
Forgot to mention - you off set the price by selling your 'old' seats, I got good money for mine from someone doing up an older 90. I replaced mine from new so they were in perfect condition to sell....

Thanks Marty,
Are they partial leather?
What model are they?
Very nice looking fabric too. Is it comfy and also hard wearing?
Or did you put your seat covers on as soon as you got them?

The model is the Touring F. No leather but a very high quality vinyl, very hard wearing - I have had them in now for trips to High Country, Googs Track, nearly every 4x4 track in the Flinders from Merna Mora to Yankaninna, Borefield track and cross country to top of lake Torrens and Stewart Ck opal fields, West Coast beach and dunes, etc, etc, and they are very comfy and no probs with the foam or anything. Put the covers on about half way - mostly to protect the seats but does up the comfort a bit too. Here is the link to the ones I bought and then optioned up with what I wanted (lumbar adjustement, rear pockets, etc)

I have them in my car and love them. It's in the shop at the moment so it depends on how much of a rush your in but your more than welcome to come and check them out when I get it back in a few weeks.
I have the traveller f and love them they were a bit stiff to start with but have softened up now. Definitely get the lumbar support.

Thanks for the offer chooka. I guess it's just heaps of money to buy if you've never sat in them. I'm kinda swaying towards the vario but they're a bit $$$
But come with lumbar and also adjustable side width on the side back bolsters.
Do you remember how much they were?
I definitely think ill get lumbar support as that's a necessity.
Thinking I might need adjustable sides as I'm not a very wide torso.
Want to feel snug and not slide side to side.

They were about $1400 from memory, I looked at the vario they are very large so it might be worth checking as the ones I have are pretty big and it would be a tight fit to get the larger seat in there.
The only thing I would say is that if you have a wide backside get ones without the raised sides on the seat as I find they keep me snug and limit leg movement and I dont mind too much but if you like your legs out to the sides it might bother you. It sounds like it might not be a problem for you however....
They are quite snug compared to the OME seats.
How much of a hurry are you in? If your happy to wait a few weeks I am in Alexandria area and more than happy for you to come look.

Thanks mate,
I'm sure I can wait to spend $3k a few weeks. Hahaha
Sounds good mate let me know when you get it back.
What are you getting done??
My girl gets a new larger intercooler,a nanocom evolution and some remapping by Td5 inside in the next few weeks.
After that I think some sound deadening and seats....

They are just moving the trailing arm connection points and fitting a new diff as well as working out a couple of bugs with the gearbox. Just waiting for the diff to hit Aus it should ship from the UK Monday with any luck.

No Dramas Chook.
Not in a rush to buy them at the moment so any time that suits you is great.

No sorry, custom made adjustable trailing arms with 10mm wall thickness and 350mm longer than stock with GU patrol bushes.
New Ashcroft heavy duty hypoid diff (with locker) in the rear.....
Ouch I just looked at the giglepin arms and I am paying under half that price to have them custom made!
