This latest iteration of ROME, while still running well, has a problem with random lockups,, no BSOD ever, no minidumps, just a RED message in the BIOS about CPU voltages causing reboots,,
the settings have been as per the motherboard defaults, ie, all set at AUTO.
I have (without any guidance or real knowledge, bios's and I are old friends though) reset all the CPU voltages to NORMAL.
I am fairly sure the box wont go bang,, ;)
list is now
CPU-Vcore 1.130V-Normal
Dynamic Vcore (DVID) - Norm
QPI/VttVoltage 1.050V- Norm
System Agent Voltage .925V -Norm
Anybody see anything wrong here??

It's not running hot enough to require submersion in inert gel inside a refrigerator on it's back then the voltages are too low.

that thought is behind me going from auto to normal,,
but it locks even at idle/screensaver ,, maybe one every 3 days

Are you confident your PSU is ok Pedro?
I've just had exactly the same symptoms you describe, replaced the power supply, and no problems since.

Check the low voltage feeds, might be spiking HV (relative) into the wrong areas. Maybe a logger on it to see what happens when it happens.

classic symtoms of brownout damage to power supply fault imho
low voltage rail on the motherboards cpu circuit is receiving low or fluctuating feed
BUT
i have seen video card drivers do exactly the same thing
keep a log of what you run and in what order and when it locks up and see if you can deduce a pattern of failure..

must be getting old,,
I seem to have missed a bios update,,
new one reads--
the improve power on issue seems promising

explain please?
are you saying the PSU 5V rail is low?
I was under the impression that the 5V didnt supply anything important, just usb etc
can I correct this problem by increasing the output via the Bios?
This is a great article,,
Voltage Rails : Power Supply 101: A Reference Of Specifications (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-specifications-atx-reference,3061-2.html)
I would think that any PSU that reaches a gold or silver rating
"should" be using this power_OK thing?
but,, and theres always a but,
why does mine lock-up?
if this power_ok is the problem it should reset yes?
or if I have the bsod turned to NOT reset the PC,??
it happened twice last night,,
both times all I had running was cobians to backup my drive.
I can nearly handle the lockups,,
not running long enough to backup my bring it to a head,,,
