If so, which company did you use and was it reasonably priced ?
Shipping seems to have rocketed since I last had anything sent over :(
Just been quoted £322 ($500) for 4 Minilite wheels for our classic car, almost as much as the wheels! Total weight is only 32kgs, even splitting it into singles doesn't make a big difference :(
Shippers finally cashing in on all the stuff coming here ??

Not particularly weighty, but got a D4 bonnet, front wing, dashboard and a few other minor bits (total of about 35kgs, and clearly very bulky) on the way. Had to come by seafreight and is costing me just over £200.
The company was called Compare Cargo Rates.

I shipped 4 steel 16x8 Mach 5 wheels 18 months ago - heavy and cost 260 pounds via TNT.

I'm considering the sea freight option to be honest, I'm in no rush for them.
Fiddling around on parcels2go I can FedEx each wheel singly for £60, about $100. Voovit by sea would be £100 for 2 boxes.

Seafeight may require a "clearance agent" and when all these costs are included courier door to door may be be cheaper.
You need to research just in case this is the case.

The rates they quote include collection too. I thought it was a good deal.

Juddy made a post in March offering some room in a shipping container he is bringing over from the UK - http://www.aulro.com/afvb/verandah/170728-do-you-want-land-rover-uk-spares.html
See if there is any room left?

It's a bit of a faff, SWMBO did it about a year ago with 2 boxes of stuff we'd left in the UK and yes, she was rather irritated at the customs hassle when they arrived here.
It's much better when someone's bringing over a car you can pack stuff into ;)

Items arriving that are less than $1000 have an abbreviated clearance routine, that I found on the Customs website, meaning you can quite easily do the customs clearing yourself.
In my case, I'll have to go collect from the port on arrival, but that's no great hardship.

As these are small in size, there's an airfreight option for £170, half the quote the triumph clubshop have had. I'll call them tomorrow I think to see how that works :) I don't mind going out to Tullamarine if necessary

what extras did you get included ? the cost steps for extra weight are quite big

I find DHL very good and reasonable cost, they even deliver on Sundays and Public holidays ie ANZAC day.

just be careful with DHL. Do a search about them sending out crazy customs inspection charges. They sent me one, I called up and they said they would wave the cost on that occasion, then they sent me the bill again. I didnt pay.
I think it's a scam and it's definatly DHL doing it.

I just opened the invoice 155 pounds for 31 kg. I'm sure the website tallied 175. It is a TD5 Cyl head too.

I have read a bit of this and generally all of the above forums seem wrong.
the charge that I was hit with by DHL was a Quarantine inspection Fee. There was also a thread on here about 2 years ago
If you look on the AQIS site they explain that they spot check shipments and that the average cost to inspect is about $18.
It appears that DHL want to keep their base prices low so do not average the charge , but charge the individual shipments that are inspected, and for good measure add a $40 fee of their own.
It appears that they do not follow up or place a mercantile report on non payers, but I would never use DHL if I can avoid it, as to me this is just plain dishonest.

I don't know about that but they shipped 4 18x8inch rims from Northern Ireland to Perth for 200 U.K. pounds within a week.
