Hey guys,
Just posted a new page on my website with pictures of the MacDonnell Ranges wast of Alice Springs. Awesome pic of Mt Sonder! Pics done by my late mate Joe Mortelliti, who was a great photographer.

We really do have a superb country. Between all it's corners, from the mountains to the sea, deserts to the snow we are very very lucky.

It's funny sometimes when you see something so often it doesn't jump out at you ... but occasionally you see the same thing at a different time of day and it takes your breath away - that's how I see the Macs :)

A new page on the Blue Rag Range in the Victorian alpine high country. Some of those tracks would be a challenge!

Great pics of the MacDonnells. The link to Blue Rag comes up with an error. ;)
We used to live in Alice Springs before moving to Kalgoorlie. Spent a lot of time touring around the ranges and other places of interest in the old 2 door RRC we had back then. Definitely some impressive scenery in that part of the country. It's something we have missed since moving to Kal.
The drive north west from Alice also has some impressive scenery - I worked out at The Granites, and while mostly flew in and out of site, have driven it on a few occasions.

Thanks for that!
Awesome shot of Mt Sonder. I just love the Mac's, but I like the east side better :). Used to go to Alice every year on holiday, just to grab my (then) sister in law's troopy and go camping.
One of my favourite spots of all time is N'Dhala Gorge, very spiritual place at night and I found a wonderful fossil there - which I duly moved away from the pathway, lest it find it's way onto someone's study shelf...
Had a great time at Ruby Gap too, last time I was there I was doing a "Billy Connolly" down the Hale River for my 40th birthday :p:p
I think I recall passing a Deefer or two that trip, they were on the way out as we were heading in. :D
Cheers
Mike

Great shot of Mt Sonder, from the angle it is taken at, you can clearly see why the Traditional Owners say it looks like a pregnant women laying down.
A few years ago (close to 20) i lived at Glen Helen flying Helicopters and had the privilege of putting 2 guys in wheelchairs on top Mt Sonder. That was another feel good day with their appreciation.
