Brake pads

Another new topic for me. I have tried the search tool but surprisingly brake pads didn't return any particular forum topic.

So I'm coming up towards needing rear brake pads. No panic, just noticed they were a few mm left to go when I pulled the axles out recently. And will likely change all four together so happy for a change in pad.

Anyone suggest a particular type of pad that they find feel good and work well with the traction control. I'm leaning towards a softer pad maybe or is fade a problem with our heavy p38? I have a rear locker but I'd also like the front to have some good bite for the traction control... Oh and nice feel for the road of coarse. Not so fussed about brake dust. Well my car is rarely clean like my previous car.

II haven't began looking yet so might find there ain't much choice anyway.

I did mine a couple of months ago (all four) and got them from Karcraft in Silverwater. I have had the occasional noise from the front pads under light pressure ( in constant stop /start traffic) but so far good performance although I am not a heavy breaker in any event. I think Bursons also run their own brand pads that are re-branded bendix for a cheaper price as well.

ECB seem to get good reports, but there are plenty of options available.

I got a set from island-4x4.co.uk and a set of slotted and drilled rotors to go with it. Haven't fitted them yet but I will before I go to the cape this year.

They are mighty cheap to buy there but freight for rotors ain't the cheapest!

I'm now looking at island4x4 for the EBC green pads front and rear, and have also thrown in the full set of polyurethane bushes, the Terrafirma +2 shocks, extra spring retainer clips... and that's it for now. Was gonna put the blend motors in there but I might try and fix mine first.

Just waiting on postage cost. That might change things a little. Wanted to get the shocks at another place which was cheaper but they don't sell the pads and other stuff.

Bendix pads from Burson at around $75 per end seem good value to me.
I get 50k-60k and they stop well and don't squeak. Don't dust the wheels either.
