small gudgeon,,large gudgon 2 l engine

hi all ,starting to price up bits to rebuild my original engine and was wondering at what date/engine number the gudgon pin size changed?
the engine is a 1955 spread bore.
also what piston supliers are people using {local or pommie...no difference to me as its a long term rebuild}

Pretty sure all spreadbore engines have the larger gudgeon pin. If the gudgeon pins on your current engine measure 7/8 inch you have the larger ones, if they measure 11/16 inch you have the smaller ones.
Been a while since I purchased a set of pistons but with high value of the AUD it may be worth getting a price from Dunsfold, Craddocks etc. from England.

yea was thinking the uk but i can get them here cheeper{if there what i want brand wize} ill try dunsfolds first as who know what craddocks pistons are.
