Jeez, that's shocking Mrs HH. :(
Seems more and more these days we're seeing people do stuff that rocks you to the core, trying to understand why someone could do such evil things :(
My thoughts are with her friends and family.

Really sorry to hear that Mrs HH.

Sometimes, just when you think all is great with the world, it throws up some absolute horrors. And for a young woman, in her prime and with an extra life on the way to end her days like that, it is a tragedy beyond words.

It is insane. Recently, my dog washer for years and years, a lady I first knew as the canteen lady as a kid had her son murdered by his friend - shot. It really makes you wonder when these things start happening so close to home.

I'm really sorry to hear this mrs hh

Carolyn,

Hello.

I simply don't have an answer. But I share your bewilderment and pain.

It is senseless and I can't make sense of it either.

What more can we say?

Ever yours.

Sorry to hear Mrs HH, I can't even imagine what makes these mongrels do these things. We have a similar one here in Mackay. 3 months ago a a young woman (Shandee Blackburn) was stabbed to death not far from her home after finishing work late at night. Her killer has still not been found. It is thought that she must have known her killer but no arrest as yet. :(

You can't look for reason when stuff like this happens, you are dealing with unreasonable people, and you cannot apply your morals to them.
I'm mad, sad, and very frustrated that life can be like this at times.
Enjoy some of the good things in your life, and try to put it behind you when you have finished grieving.

Mrs HH, I am so sorry to read of this horrible event. It is a double tragedy with loss of her life and also her baby. I can't bear the thought of what she must have gone through to, not only try and protect her self, but also the precious life she was carrying.

It is in cases such as this that I can't help but think of capital punishment where the guilt of an individual is proven beyond doubt. The very existence of these individuals beyond their conviction is repulsive and poses a constant reminder to the friends and family.

I hope that the perpetrator is caught and dealt with quickly to spare all involved any more anguish.

My sincere condolences to her family, friends and you.

Mrs H H,
Lisa & I send our condolences to you & this young lady's family.

This horror continues to grow in our society & is a sad indictment of our culture and humanity. As a species we have no limits to our extremes of behaviour.

Thankfully the good & honest people of this world still outnumber the bad. I see this even now by the amount of concern & care that has been shown by this very community that we share. This is what gives me hope in our future.

Take care & hug those you love.

Regards Chris & Lisa.

Wow, I couldn't believe what I just read. That is truly horrific. My thoughts and condolences are with you.

I've just come to the inescapable conclusion that there are some people so messed up that they simply don't have the ability to behave. Whether it's drugs, mental problems or whatever else, they can't and never will be fully reasonable. I'm far more careful these days if I have a suspicion of this.

Take care.

Sorry to see this terrible thing in the news and now here. Thought it would have been your area. We are all thinking of her, her family and friends.

The devotion and support of friends, the wave of sympathy that sweeps through the community and the comfort the family receives will help them.

A friend of mine was murdered in the street (at night) about 10 years ago, for no good reason. I can understand the emotions that come about in events like this. :(

Hello Mrs Ho Har,

I did follow this story on the news and was saddened by it even before I read of the person being your friend and co-worker. Since reading your message it has only compounded it.

There are those people on the earth who will do anything for anyone - because they are naturally kind and generous. Because that is their nature.

There are other people on the earth who do everything for solely their own benefit and this is frequently at the expense of other people. Because that is their nature.

It is a great shame that the two groups have to share the same planet.

Kind Regards
Lionel

I was just reading that on the news. And I was sickened for two reasons: 1) he's apparently 18 today. That means he was 17 when he murdered and raped a pregnant woman. 2) there was a big song and dance being made about him missing his 18th birthday. As if that's a big issue compared to a woman being deprived of life and a child not even reaching it's first birthday.

I know it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. I really hope the police have their ducks lined up on this one, and that her friends, family, and all who knew her can get some closure.

If the DNA sample is correct, the ducks are lined up. I hope they have the right one, as you do. Bob

Hope your right mate, he was not 18 at the time??????? The courts can still decide to treat you as an adult if the crime is that bad, so in this case I would want/hope adult.

No matter what happens, none of it will bring back that beautiful young woman and the life her and her other half created.

My thoughts go primarily to the husband/partner, I won't waste my energy on the perpetrator. The law will deal with him.

Caroline, please pass my personal thoughts/ condolences to anyone who needs to hear them. What a tragedy.

Can you provide any legal precedent to back that up???

I am pretty sure it is the date of the crime that is important. Hence why the media are not reporting the name of the accused...

I am fairly sure this is right,
but the prosecution can apply for the offender to be treated as an adult,
--especially because the offence occurred when he was so close to 18 years and the severity of the offence.

I hope they do! - I am a great believer in life without possibility of parole.
