Hi all, I haven't seen any reference to this here and it never crossed my mind as a potential issue so I thought I would post it.
Just had Terrafirma rock sliders fitted to my D3 with rear air and they don't fit without modification, don't know if it applies to other makes as well but it would be worth checking. There is no warning with the sliders about this as a potential problem.
The air conditioning pipes run inside the sill where the back of the slider mounting plate needs to go. They managed to get them on, but it involved cutting the slider mounting plate down, by about 20mm I believe, on one side. Glad I didn't try and do it myself as i wouldnt have had the gear to do the required modification.

The BritParts Step/Sliders seems to fit easily, no problems, but keep to the sills.

Looks like the TerraFirma extends beyond the sills by a long way, whereas the Britpart sliders don't.

You ment the air compressor, not the rear air cond.
WOW I wonder why it extends that far under, maybe to try and help protect the compressor a sort of mini protection plate for the compressor:confused:
Strange, have you spoken to them to see why??

No I meant the air conditioning, I have a GOE bash plate for the compressor, but my understanding from the installer was that the compressor and air tank wold have been ok, but itnis the piping for the rear air conditioner that caused the grief.

Hi Andrew,
Could you PM me where you bought the Terrafirma sliders, and who fitted them for you and the price?
Cheers

Hi Steve223,
Do you know it the Forumite from whom you got your slides is still producing them? If so could I hassle you to PM me his name?
Thanks, Rick

The pipe work that runs down the drivers side sill and next to the seam in the R/H rear wheel arch are actually rear heater pipes not A/C. They can be moved as they only have coolant in them. I'm moving mine because oversize tyres can rub on the seam that protrudes into the wheel arch. Both the seam and pipe work is being altered.
I too have the Qld sliders, much cheaper than the imported ones and strong too.

I can second this. They are a great set of sliders, very strong and easy to install.

Sorry don't have a close up at the moment.
Wide ones can be used as a side step.
