Spot Lights come on when hey feel like it

Quick question, My spots sometimes do not come on and sometimes there may be a delay before they make an appearance.

They are wired through a relay back to the battery with the signal from the main beam, before I go checking the wiring, is there a chance it the relay could be faulty?

faulty relay or bad earth on the relay would be my guess.
