Surveying a place for a campsite & found a trail of footprints today near Winton QLD (co-incedently after seeing the Dinosaur stampede footprints)
any ideas ? not a cow, camel, or any native I can think of.
I googled Bear, Lion & Leopard, they don't fit either
any clues ??? I'm a size 11

A Crop-Circler?
Seriously though, were there any other clear prints and what was the separation? Two-legged or four if you could tell?

The front part of it looks like a cow but the square bit at the rear is a bit of a mystery. As someone else asked what is the style of gait, are they spaced apart about the right distance for a cow or something bigger and do all the footprints have the square section.

Its four legged. There are two prints there. The two toed front foot then the back foot printed on top and slightly to the rear. A normal walking gait for a bovine.

looking at that track I would almost say bare foot horses trotting side by side. or maybe more likely donkeys in that region
when horses over track the hind foot will partially enter the print of the front foot.
as someone said above its two prints. and if you look at the bottom part of the print it looks like two halfmoon shapes together which could be he heel of the horse/donkey

The foot print and tracks (clearly two animals) are likely to belong to dogs. The interesting question is why do they appear to be so large. The only thing that comes to mind is the tracks were made in very wet clay and as it dried out it shrank (as clay does) giving the appearance that they were made my much larger feet than they were. I have seen this kind of phenomena with tracks in the snow before but not in clay. The only other option would that they were made by the 'Beast of Boonah':
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2013/05/205.jpg
See Hunter searches for the 'Beast of Boonah' | Ipswich Queensland Times (http://www.qt.com.au/news/searching-for-the-beast-of-boonah/1865986/) for further details.

Just to satisfy our curiosity here, as posted already. Track those prints and see what is making them. Should be a good out come for us as it will give us a lot more to discuss. Maybe not for you depending on what you find. But , to quote a certain animated film,we are willing to make the sacrafice.

You are kidding. Aren't you.
About the tracks being made by the 'Beast of Boonah'? Yes.
About the tracks being made by a dog or dogs? No.
There are few animals roaming the wilds of Australia that could make a fresh track of the size indicated: Horses, Donkeys, cattle (including Banteng and Water Buffalo), Camels, larger deer and kangaroos, Emus and Saltwater Crocodiles. None of these fit the bill. The track is carnivore like and resembles a small bear.
You may like to have a look at Rob Morrison's Tracks and Traces of Australian Animals at your local library (it has been out of print for a few years); or Barbara Triggs' Tracks Scats and other Traces (still in print as far as I am aware.
Cheers

Walk an ever widening circle and look for pats or droppings.

Obviously size 13 bata scouts !
(if you could see them they have the compass under a heel)
to quote someone else...
" I got a pair of ‘Bata Scout’ school shoes. They had lion paw prints stamped into the sole, and at the back of the shoe, just above the heel, was a tiny opening with a secret compass tucked inside. I remember walking in the dirt and checking out my foot prints with the air of a seasoned jungle explorer"
sorry couldnt find a photo for the match!! :)
