hi all
got a 2002 defender110 td5
got oil coming out of (i presume) the steering pump
how hard is it to remove and repair it or should we go down the path
of just replacing the whole unit ( any ideas on cost )
thanks

Replace it is just as easy I think. Have not seen repair kits for pumps, steering boxes yes.
Power Steering Pump Land Rover Defender TD5 1999 2004 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Power-Steering-Pump-Land-Rover-Defender-TD5-1999-2004-/300899349409?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item460effb3a1)
Just check that it is not just a hose! They do leak more often than pumps,if so then pirtek is your friend!:)
Cheers Scott

Speak of the devil :o Scrolled down evilbay and this hits me! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Power-Steering-Pump-Seal-Kit-9170-Land-Rover-Discovery-II-1999-2004-/151052552689?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ALand+Rover&hash=item232b6f09f1 Am not sure if td5 pumps are the same as V8's though.

Just ordered one off ebay myself for the Rangie. probably a similar pump. $200 Kits are cheap as, but apparently mine has recently had a kit through it and it is peeing out fluid. so just biting the bullet and replacing it with a new one.

Did you get what you wanted in the end? My pump was not at fault after all so i have a new PS pump that I don't really need though not too bothered about keeping it for a spare as it won't eat any meat!
