One of the guys at work is heading upto Cairns to take part in the ironman contest. Are there any people within approximate range of his travel plan that can play back up for him incase he runs into trouble on the way.

13th Townsville to Rockhampton
14th Rockhampton to Brisbane

Hes in some v8 ute,

his primary concern is his bike and gear RACQ wont cover the bike and if that gets toasted while the vehicle is on tow hes pooched.

The intent is in the event of a break down to have somewhere known he can use as a minimum distance location to stage out of in the event of a break down for the trip up and somewhere the car can be dumped until recovery can be organised.
