Neighbour came down another time and asked if I could look at the lighting in his house. Up I went with fear and trepidation to find the house half in total darkness and half fully lit and unable to be switched off. I asked what he had done and he said he had removed all the light switches and replaced them with dimmer switches. He had also removed a light fitting which had five cables running into it and He didn't know what went where. Now I am not a sparky but I have sorted enough electrical problems over the years, so armed with tools and a multimeter I started work. Dimmers on two way circuits generate problems if not connected properly. Most of the day disappeared before I sat on his verandah with a cold beer in my hand and a headache. I won, but believe me this guy is "practically"useless. How he got where he was in his work I don't know. Jim :mad::mad::mad::mad:
