G'day oh knowledgeable ones. I'm sure that this subject has come up many times in the past, but... My RRC steering BOX is leaking fluid. Looking at what is involved in getting it off the car  I was pondering the merits of using a leak stop additive to at least get me through the rego inspection. It sounds too good to be true so what are others views or experiences please?

You can use Moreys which will help. A modification that can be done is th machine the box to take a double lipped seal, done here by Rovertech

Thanks Richard. I am looking for a quick fix to get through the roadworthy test, then I will look at a permanent solution (oxymoron: RRC permanent oil leak fix!) I will try the Moreys. Whats the cost of the modification? It sounds like well worth doing!

Can't recollect now, I had it done in my previous RRC and never had a leak after that, I'll see if I can find out in the next few days
Incidentally I think you can use 100% moreys in the power steering

Well, I put a bottle of leak stop in a few days ago and it still leaks. I can't get Moreys, but used another brand, I guess its similar? I may have to bite the bullet and change the box. I'll PM you Richard.
