I was travelling along the M4 from Penrith this morning and went past an 80 series that had probably broken down during the night.
Some mongrels had decided it would be good sport to smash every window in the Cruiser. I don't know if they had smashed all the body panels in, too, as I was in the far right lane so I didn't get a chance to have a good look.
Why the heck would people do that? :censored:

Happens here a lot like every car left over night on the side of even the most busy roads

Bloody idiots.
I suppose they think that it is fun to add to someones stress...
Gotta wonder thou, even at 3am, there must have been at least 1 other car pass them as it was occurring. Even if you don't want to get involved, how about a quick phone call to the police???

The Tools do it to cars left on the Western Highway to Melbourne too, especially from Bacchus Marsh to Melbourne.

It's a shame these idiots will probably never own anything themselves worth smashing up so they'll never know the distress their stupid actions cause others. Worthless bastards.

In Canberra we get the same problem. But it normally takes about 3 to 4 days before it gets done. I always wonder why someone would be inclined to leave their car there for so long when it breaks down.
If my car broke down I can say it will be back home within a couple of hours.

Maybe the driver was arrested for DUI or other offences. If you drive any main road early on a Saturday or Sunday morning count the cars parked up in odd spots, they couldn't all have broken down.

Some have been busted for being out of rego. I have seen the police with their number plate reading thingy busting people quite a bit.

No Bob it was a Toyota.
And who should suck what up?
Us for being annoyed.
The owner for getting his vehicle trashed.
The insurance company for having to pay out, or
Us again for having to pay higher insurance premiums.
A fait acompli attitude only validates this behaviour.

All of the above, stop whinging, & do something about it. Bob.

OK Bob, to "do something" involves "whinging" or more commonly refered to as lobbying to ensure our police forces are adequately funded and correctly deployed.
You would be surprised what "whinging" on social media can do - such as Tony Abbott's recent backflip on money for votes bill.
Short of forming the Aulro Justice League* whinging is the embryo of change.
* I just had a vision of Ron in Lycra and cape riding his motorcycle!

What, pray tell, should we do about it Bob?
Not care? Live in the woods with a shotgun to stop people vandalising our cars? :rocket:
Not sure if you've encountered a group of young fellas on the **** with something to prove lately, but, as they will tell you in a slightly slurred manner, they don't give a ****.
There's only so much we can do about it.

There is a great deal you can do about it. Besides throwing your arms in the air & saying it is all too hard, Get involved with your neighbours, get involved with your community, Yes , I've been there, done that with dickheads , the only thing they respect is force, don't back down, be prepared to cop a beating, but never back down. The moment you back down, the dickheads win. If you accept that, you have no guts. Simple. When good people are afraid to stand up to the arseholes in this world, the arseholes win. Is that what you want? Man up. Bob

With all due respect Bob, sucking it up is not manning up. I think you used a poor choice of words in your 'suck it up' post, you seem to have made a 180* turn on your view now.

Yeah let's go out an beat the **** out of these backwards hat wearing, pants round their crutch , beard growing, drug snorting hoons.
bob i respectfully disagree lest we end up in the same mess as Syria.
....and I think the less discriminatory call would be "person up".

Hey, I'm growing a beard! Remember, no beard no good! :p
Bob, I'm not throwing anything in the air, nor am I saying it's too hard.
I have the benefit of living in a rural community that means I don't really have an issue with people trying to mess with my car.
But saying "man up" is only talking about direct confrontations. You think every car stolen is some young punk going "get out of the car mate"?
What about those ones stolen in the middle of the night? How are we supposed to "man up" to those?
Also, lets not forget that there's nothing un-manly about knowing when to hold and when to fold, let alone walking (or running) away.
Wrong attitude some times IMO.

I agree fully with you on this mate.
Standing up to crap is our responsibility or else we deserve what we just complain about and put up with!
What are our children going to deal with years down the track and only because we did nothing about what is happening now?
We can not as Aussies allow our society to slip away from us where we end up like other countries with riots in the streets.
I get frustrated that many people can not see the big picture unfolding as history repeats its self, and they do nothing.
